| Pass
out the cigars-- it’s a spot remover and
a detangler! EquiCare has added two new arrivals
to its Vetrolin family of grooming products:
Vetrolin Green Spot Out and Vetrolin Detangler.
The
“newborns” will join Vetrolin
Liniment, Bath and Shine as the official grooming
and conditioning products of the American Quarter
Horse Association (AQHA).
Vetrolin Green Spot Out is
a spray that removes urine and manure spots. It
also helps remove wet and dry sweat stains. Brush
it out to create a high-gloss shine with no rinsing
required. The product contains tea tree oil and
emits the unique Vetrolin herbal scent.
Vetrolin Detangler incorporates
specially formulated silicones to quickly remove
mane and tail tangles. It increases manageability
without damaging or drying hair shafts, and adds
volume as it smoothes and shines hair.
“We want to provide
horse owners with a complete grooming and conditioning
package, and now we have two new additions to
the family,” said Elaine Sniatynsky, marketing
manager for EquiCare’s grooming products.
“The Vetrolin line meets every grooming
need of horse owners, including day-to-day,
post-workout and pre-show essentials.”
Grooming Tips (to
help your horses look like they just trotted out
of the salon):
Whether you show or not, good grooming is an important
part of horse ownership. Most horses enjoy the
attention of regular grooming and look forward
to the daily ritual. It strengthens the bond between
horse and owner. Additionally, grooming your horse
on a regular basis gives you a chance to spot
minor scratches, rashes, cuts or swelling before
they become a major problem.
Day-to-Day Basics:
Your horse’s daily grooming routine should
include currying, brushing and toweling. Currying
is the most important of the three. It removes
dead hair and dirt, massages the skin and stimulates
the release of natural oils that make the coat
shine. For tough spots such as manure and urine
stains, apply the new Vetrolin® Green Spot
Remover. Use Vetrolin® Instant Detangler
to keep the mane and tail tangle-free.
Suds Up:
When bathing your horse, start by wetting the
entire body, and then sponge him down with
warm soapy water, sudsing up sections at a
time. Use a rich shampoo with protein-enhanced
conditioners, vitamins and a built-in sunscreen
that is also gentle and non-irritating, such
as Vetrolin®
Bath. It will leave the coat shiny and manageable.
Following the bath, use Vetrolin® Shine
to repel dirt and dust.
Getting Ready for the Show:
You want your horse to look clean, well-groomed
and dazzling in the show ring. Right before you
go into the show ring, use Vetrolin Shine on your
horse’s entire coat for a first place finishing
touch.
After the Workout:
Rinse with lots of cool water, and apply Vetrolin®
Liniment (mixed in a bucket with water) to help
your horse feel refreshed. Vetrolin Liniment also
helps stimulate blood flow to ankles, knees and
tendons.
