PHOENIX – August 21, 2006 – Who would have thought that the pursuit of controlling that nasty fly problem in your horse’s stable could send you on a trip to Aachen, Germany? Kristen Villeneuve of Jerico, Vermont, that’s who.

As winner of the grand prize in the USEF/Farnam Fly Control Sweepstakes, Kristen, and her mother Brenda, will be taking off to attend the 2006 World Equestrian Games (WEG) in Aachen, Germany, August 27 to September 4, 2006. Trip includes airfare, hotel accommodations for seven nights, daily WEG tickets, dinners, spending money and more!

“I am so excited about winning the trip to the WEG,” said Villeneuve. “This will be a special trip to Germany because my trainer and good friend, Bonnie Mosser will hopefully be competing in Aachen in the Three-Day Eventing, she is currently an alternate to the team. This will be my first trip to an international competition overseas, and it really couldn’t be happening at a better time.”

Villeneuve, who has been competing this spring with her horse Tommy Star and recently completed her first CCI***, said she was looking forward to relaxing and being a spectator.

In addition, 20 first-place prizewinners will receive a Puffa® Country, Donegal Unisex Mossylk Diamond Quilted Jacket with official USEF logo embroidery, fully lined, with pockets inside and out. Second-place prizes of a Puffa® Sligo Unisex Moleskin Vest with official USEF logo embroidery will be sent to 25 lucky folks who will be warm and cozy with great style to boot! A classic twill cap embroidered with USEF official logo will be awarded to 50 third-place winners. Fifty fourth-place winners will each receive a bottle of Farnam’s new Endure® Sweat-Resistant Roll-On, which gives five to seven days protection from face, stable, house, black, horse, horn and deer flies plus biting gnats such as punkies and no-see-ums, and comes in a 3-ounce bottle with wide, 1-inch applicator ball. Finally, 100 fifth-place winners will receive an attractive, commemorative USEF/Farnam Fly Control lapel pin. Looks great on shirts and caps, too.

“Farnam’s commitment to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of its popular fly control products to the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) to help send the U.S. team to the World Equestrian Championships was just the starting point,” said Chris Jacobi, president of Farnam Horse Products. “This sweepstakes was initiated to fuel sales and give our customers the opportunity to do their part to help the U.S. Team gain the gold at the World Equestrian Games.”
